Afterleaf is a local workspace for designers and writers reusing unfinished work. It brings together local draft editor with purpose, composition, credit, permission, ancestry and PNG/JSON export. Visitors can edit a sample or import local work, then choose purpose and design, then review rights, then save, then export image plus provenance. The interface keeps its working actions close to their context, so the next decision is visible. Permission is a user declaration, not verified ownership.

Let a Fragment Grow Without Losing Its Roots
An unfinished drawing does not contain a single predetermined future. It might become a cover, a prompt or a teaching object. Afterleaf makes those futures visible while preserving the conditions under which the fragment can travel.
The editor connects a new purpose to an immediate composition. Rotation, scale, text and paper tone let the maker test whether the fragment actually works in its new role. A derivative carries source credit and inherited permission rather than resetting those fields to an empty beginning. The PNG and JSON exports serve different needs: visible attribution and a structured record of ancestry.
The botanical metaphor is about continuity, not decoration. A new leaf can look different from the fragment it grew from while remaining attached to a recorded source. Afterleaf lets the maker test that relationship through purpose, paper tone and composition. The inherited permission is deliberately less flexible than the image. If a source allows only noncommercial derivatives, a prettier crop does not turn it into a commercially reusable object. That boundary belongs beside the creative freedom.
Changing the paper tone can change the role of a fragment. The editor makes that relationship visible before the piece becomes an exported poster. Your studio is local. Save a reviewed draft, then take both the image and its provenance record with you if the work needs to leave this browser.
